Man killed in early morning crash in Minneapolis

Police say a man was killed after an early morning crash in south Minneapolis.

The crash happened just before 5 a.m. at Cedar Avenue and 46th Street South.

When officer arrived, they found a man in his 30s behind the wheel of the vehicle. Police said the man was not breathing and did not have a pulse.

He was later taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say speed and drugs may be contributing factors in the crash.

The streets were temporarily closed at the intersection due to the crash. The intersection reopened before 7 a.m.
