Man found after traffic stop, crash in St. Paul arrested
Police say one person has been arrested following a crash in St. Paul that occurred after the driver of the vehicle fled a traffic stop.
Police say eight officers stopped a vehicle for traffic violations near the intersection of Lexington Parkway North and West Seminary Avenue.
As officers approached the car, the driver drove from the scene at a high rate of speed.
Police did not pursue the vehicle but provided information to other officers over the radio. Later, officers received a report of a crash at Lexington Parkway North and Estabrook Drive. When officers arrived, they found it was the same vehicle from the earlier traffic stop.
Witnesses told police three people fled the scene.
Police also found cash and suspected ecstasy and marijuana inside of the vehicle.
A K9 was able to locate a man hiding near a footbridge. The 23-year-old man was taken into custody and was later transported to Regions Hospital for an evaluation.
