Lane and ramp closures begin this week around the metro
If you need to be using the roads over the next couple of weeks, you will notice an increase in construction activity around the Twin Cities.
In the west metro, watch for ramps along Highway 100 to close Monday. In St. Louis Park, the ramps along Highway 100 southbound to Highway 7 will close starting at 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. the same day. The ramp from Hwy 100 northbound to 36th Street will also close from 9 a.m. to noon.
Meanwhile, MnDOT has canceled daytime lane closures along I-35W in south Minneapolis this week but will continue with its night-time work. Drivers can expect to see lane restrictions on I-35W northbound near 42nd Street Monday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Lake Street will stay open at I-35W this week but will be reduced to two lanes starting Monday.
Meanwhile, a major resurfacing project gets underway this week along I-35 in Chisago County. Starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, crews will begin switching traffic along I-35 near Harris to the southbound lanes as they begin work on the northbound side. The switch is expected to be complete by Friday, and after that, the roadway will be down to one lane in both directions until mid-summer. Learn more about the project.
