Ice jam temporarily closes portion of Hwy 99 in St. Peter
A portion of Highway 99 in St. Peter was closed Monday morning due to an ice jam along the Minnesota River.
According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, ice buildup in the area made travel along Highway 99 temporarily impossible.
MnDOT officials said the closure was between South Front Street and County Road 45.
Officials asked drivers to follow detour signs in the area.
In an update Monday morning, officials said the highway was expected to reopen at about 10 a.m. Monday, but further flooding could close the road again.
