I-94 closes this weekend at the I-694/I-494 interchange in the east metro
It’s been a busy week for crews working on a major project in the east metro along I-94/I-694/I-494.
This weekend, I-94 will shut down in both directions starting at 7 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
All ramps at the interchange will close at noon Friday.
Two of them will open early Monday morning, while the other two ramps from I-94 eastbound to I-694 northbound and I-494 northbound to I-94 westbound will remain closed thru September. Detours will be set up in the immediate area.
Earlier this week, several ramps along I-494 and I-694 in Woodbury and Oakdale closed as part of an ongoing interchange and bridge reconstruction project. They will stay closed thru September as well:
- Tamarack Road to I-494 southbound
- I-494 northbound to Tamarack Road
- 10th Street to I-694 northbound
A major ramp in the south metro is closing until fall.
Starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, the ramp from I-35W southbound to I-494 westbound is shutting down through September. The detour takes drivers to Highway 62 and Highway 100. The work is related to the METRO Orange Line Project.
