Detour signs are popping in the west metro, just in time for another weekend closure.
Highway 100 is closing between Highway 7 and Highway 62. The last time crews shut down this section of roadway it was in a rare move Labor Day weekend. Once again, the work is related to the Southwest Light Rail Transit Project. Crews will be setting bridge beams for the new light rail transit bridge.
Highway 100 will be closed by 10 p.m. Friday and reopen by 5 a.m. Monday. Officials said there will still be access to the southbound lanes of Highway 100 south of 36th Street in St. Louis Park. Highway 169 is the detour.
If you normally take Highway 100 to get around the ramp closure at Interstate 35W northbound to I-94 westbound, you can follow the detour to Highway 169, but Hiawatha Avenue is an option as well. Learn more about the project.
