Curfew implemented for some parts of Twin Cities, MnDOT says no plans to shut down highways

Due to civil unrest in the Twin Cities, curfews in Minneapolis and St. Paul have been shortened but extended through Monday and Tuesday.

Gov. Tim Walz, in collaboration with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter, announced the decision Monday.

The new curfew order will last from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Walz and state officials thanked Minnesotans for their cooperation in following the curfews over the weekend and said that’s why they felt it was appropriate to shorten the curfew time from the 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. window it was issued for over the weekend.
