Amtrak temporarily suspends train service between Milwaukee, Chicago

Amtrak has announced it is temporarily suspending its train service between Milwaukee and Chicago.

According to Amtrak, effective Friday, buses will replace the Hiawatha service.

The suspension of service will be in effect until May 25.

Amtrak is waiving ticket change fees for reservations made before May 31. The Hiawatha peak fare surcharge has also been suspended.

According to Amtrak, service has been reduced or suspended as demand drops due to COVID-19.
