5 injured in crash involving stolen vehicle in Falcon Heights

Five people were injured in a crash that involved a stolen vehicle Tuesday in Falcon Heights.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded just before 12:30 p.m. to the area of Arona Street and Hoyt Avenue West on the report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

The sheriff’s office said a vehicle that was reported as stolen was traveling at a high rate of speed on Arona Street when it ran a stop sign at Hoyt Avenue and hit another vehicle and a fire hydrant.

Five people were injured during the crash. According to the sheriff’s office, two of those injuries are considered serious.

Prior to the crash, according to the sheriff’s office, the driver and the two passengers of the stolen vehicle were approached by a person who thought they may be stealing license plates. When they were confronted, they left the area at a high rate of speed.

The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
