3 injured when car crashes into tree in Brooklyn Center

Three people were injured late Tuesday night after a car struck a tree in Brooklyn Center.

According to Brooklyn Center police, officers responded to 59th Avenue and Xerxes Avenue at about 11:45 p.m. on a report that a vehicle had crashed into a house.

Police said officers found a vehicle had struck a large tree in front of a house. In the vehicle, officers found the driver and two passengers injured, some with serious injuries. All three were adults.

The three occupants were taken to a hospital by an ambulance. Their conditions were unclear.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. However, witnesses told police they heard tires squealing before the crash.

The department said it is being assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol.
