1 killed in crash involving school bus in Sawyer County
One person was killed in a crash involving a school bus in Sawyer County Thursday evening.
The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called just after 6:30 p.m. on the report of a crash involving a school bus.
Investigators learned a school bus was southbound on Highway 40 when it failed to yield the right of way when making a turn onto Highway 48 and collided head-on with an SUV.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
The driver of the bus was taken to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. Two of the students on the bus suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
