Woman takes herself to hospital after being shot in vehicle in Maplewood

A woman was hospitalized after suffering a gunshot wound while in her vehicle in Maplewood on Thursday.

According to Maplewood Police Investigative Sergeant Joseph Steiner, the woman was shot in the 1500 block of Beam Avenue at about 4:30 p.m.

Steiner said the woman’s 5-year-old son was in the vehicle at the time she was shot.

The woman, being close to M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospital, was able to drive herself to the hospital, police said.

She’s listed in stable condition.

An investigation is ongoing.
