With Minnesota hair salons and barbershops closed until May, some are freaking out about having bad hair during the 'stay at home' order.
Now, many people are cutting and coloring their own hair, but mistakes can be costly.
"We just ache as stylists to see the mistakes happening," said Kim Bell, who owns Belissimo Salon & Day Spa in Cottage Grove.
Bell said never use scissors, but recommends buying grooming shears.
"If they are going to be trimming their own hair, I would suggest only around the edges and only clean cuts around the edges," she said.
Bell said touch up roots with a highlighter, but don't use box dye because it can turn your hair a different color than you want.
"It really dries hair, breaks down the elasticity of hair. It can cost in the hundreds of dollars, three, four, $500 to get you back."
As a last resort, you can always shave your head.
"It's an option, but just know that hair grows on average a half an inch a month," Bell said.
