Wind chill advisory now in place Monday in Minnesota, warmup on the way

Monday will be another cold day but a warmup is on the way.
Chief Meteorologist Ken Barlow said Monday will be the coldest day for the next seven to 10 days.
Barlow said, as of 4 a.m. Monday, the temperature had been below zero degrees for 108 straight hours.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a wind chill warning, which has since expired, and a wind chill advisory Monday morning, stating dangerously cold wind chills were expected for portions of central, east-central and south-central Minnesota.
According to the NWS, parts of Minnesota, including Fairmont and Ladysmith, saw wind chills Monday morning in the minus 40 degree range.

Barlow said a warmup will accelerate on Tuesday, as the state will see temperatures begin to rise into the positive digits. Warmer air will continue to build and by Tuesday afternoon, temperatures are expected to rise into the double digits, Barlow said.
Temperatures in the teens are likely Wednesday and Thursday before possibly reaching the 20s on Friday.
Barlow said no major storms are currently in the forecast.
