Wild recall 3 players from Iowa; 2 players going through COVID-19 protocol

The Minnesota Wild are recalling three players from their American Hockey League (AHL) team in Iowa and have two players in the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol.

Jon Lizotte, Connor Dewar and Kyle Rau have been called up to Minnesota, according to the team. Rem Pitlick and Mats Zuccarello are in the COVID-19 protocol.

Dewar, 22, and Lizotte, 26, have yet to play in an NHL game. Dewar has collected four points, 14 shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in four games with Iowa this season. Lizotte has tallied one assist, a plus-3 rating and four penalty infraction minutes in four games in Iowa. Dewar was selected by the Wild in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft, and Lizotte was signed as a free agent this past summer.

Rau, 29, has recorded five points, a plus-4 rating and 13 shots on goal in four games with Iowa this season. The Eden Prairie native leads the team in scoring and is tied for second in plus/minus rating. Rau recorded two assists in 14 games with Minnesota last season and owns seven points in 56 career contests in the NHL. He was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the third round of the 2011 NHL Draft and signed as a free agent with Minnesota in 2017.

The Wild face off against the Seattle Kraken Thursday night at 9 p.m.
