Whalen undergoes emergency appendectomy, will miss Thursday’s game
University of Minnesota women’s basketball coach Lindsay Whalen is recovering after undergoing an emergency appendectomy on Tuesday.
The university said the surgery was successful and Whalen is recovering. However, she’ll miss Minnesota’s game on Thursday at Rutgers.
In her absence, Carly Thibault-DuDonis will serve as acting head coach for the Gophers.
Whalen’s status is expected to be updated after Thursday’s game and before Minnesota’s next game on Sunday.
