Westbound lanes of I-94 in Minneapolis reopen after fatal crash in Lowry Tunnel

UPDATE: The Minnesota State Patrol reported an update early Monday that two men died and a third man was hurt after a crash on Interstate 94 in the Lowry Hill Tunnel Sunday night.

According to video captured of the incident, a vehicle hit the railing before starting on fire and spinning out.

The state patrol reported that when the vehicle hit the barrier, it ruptured the gas tank.

Authorities said the third man was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The identities of the two men who died have not yet been released.

The Minnesota State Patrol says at least one person is dead from a crash Sunday night in the Lowry Tunnel in Minneapolis, causing major delays on Interstate 94.

Westbound lanes of I-94 will be closed for an "extended period of time" as crews investigate the crash and clear the scene, the State Patrol said.
