Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is expected to announce new vaccine incentives Thursday.

According to Walz’s office, the incentives are part of the "Your Shot to Summer" campaign to help the state reach the goal of vaccinating 70% of the population above 16 by the beginning of July.

"As part of a new ‘Your Shot to Summer’ vaccination campaign, 100,000 Minnesotans who get vaccinated between Memorial Day weekend and the end of June will be eligible to choose from a wide range of incentives that will include state park passes and fishing licenses as well as fair and amusement park tickets," a spokesperson for the governor said.

According to data released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Health, there have been a total of 5.1 million COVID-19 vaccinations administered in Minnesota. So far, over 2.5 million people, or about 57% of Minnesotans 16 and older, have completed the vaccine series, according to MDH data.
