Minnesotans got up early on Sunday to cheer on the Vikings at a downtown Minneapolis watch party.
A sea of purple and gold filled Brit’s pub from top to bottom.
“It’s a Minnesota Vikings game in London so of course they’re going come to a British pub to watch it,” Gabriella Moreno, Brit’s Pub server, said.
Fans got as close as they could to London by waking up early to cheer on the Vikings as they take on the Saints overseas.
“The first round of people were either drinking Bloodys or coffee or both,” Moreno said.
The pub opened its doors at 7 a.m. Sunday morning to welcome fans from both sides of the football field.
Erin Savoie braved Brit’s pub sporting her New Orleans hometown jersey. She calls being a football fan a full-time job.
“I’m a big fan. New Orleans fan kind of fish out of water here,” she said. “I’m happy and I’m excited. I didn’t want to be too loud in this very purple bar today.”
Minnesotans said win or lose, being a die-hard Vikings fan is in their DNA.
“I just grew up here born and raised so I have to stick with the Vikings. They’re our hometown heroes,” Delaney Johnson, Vikings fan, said.
