A boat caught fire Saturday on Lake Minnetonka.
The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office says the boat fire happened on the West Bay of the lake. The sheriff’s office, along with multiple fire departments, responded and were able to extinguish the fire.
A witness at the scene provided video of the boat, showing smoke rising from the watercraft and fire departments at the scene.
The fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported by police in the incident.
The sheriff’s office reminds people to make sure that their blower is on if they have an inboard motor on their boat. They also advise to not fill the boat with gas cans.
"We see a trend of nearly every boat fire being filled from a gas can," a spokesperson with the sheriff’s office said.
