Victim identified in Sunday morning shooting in Minneapolis

A 22-year-old victim has been identified in a Minneapolis shooting that occurred early Sunday morning. 

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner said the victim has been identified as Marcus Lashaun Banks, Jr., from Spring Lake Park. He died from a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death is considered a homicide. He died at Hennepin Healthcare on Monday afternoon. 

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, just before 2 a.m., officers were notified about a ShotSpotter activation on the 200 block of West Broadway Avenue. 

Upon arrival at the scene, officers learned that five of the victims were taken to area hospitals. Police located an additional victim near the area where the shooting took place. 

Police are still investigating. There are no arrests at this time.
