UPDATE: Victim dies in shooting in St. Paul’s North End neighborhood

A man who was shot Sunday night outside a St. Paul bar died Monday morning. St. Paul Police Department homicide investigators are looking for the person or people responsible for his death.

According to police, a 911 caller reported shots fired just after 11 p.m. Sunday on the 1200 block of Jackson Street. Officers responded and found a man sitting on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The officers provided aid and called for St. Paul medics, who quickly responded and transported the victim to Regions Hospital.

The victim died at about 5:45 a.m., according to police.

The department’s homicide unit is seeking possible witnesses while the video management unit is collecting surveillance video.

No arrests have been made and a motive is unclear at this time. However, police note the victim’s vehicle appears to have been stolen after the shooting. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 651-266-5650.

This is the 12th homicide seen this year in St. Paul.

Investigators said a man was hospitalized and later died after a shooting in St. Paul’s North End neighborhood late Sunday.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. in the area of Jackson Street and Maryland Avenue East.

Police said the man was shot in the stomach.

As of 9:40 a.m. Monday, the man died from his injuries.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident, police said.
