UPDATE:
The pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle Friday night died from her injuries at the hospital Saturday morning.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to this crash.
We will work with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner to positively identify the pedestrian and determine her exact cause of death.

Abigail Cortes, 19, the driver of the vehicle was booked into the Ramsey County Jail for criminal vehicular operation. Police say Cortes was under the influence of a controlled substance.

A pedestrian was taken to a hospital Friday night after being hit by a vehicle in St. Paul.
St. Paul Police said the pedestrian was trying to cross Seventh Street West near Homer Street at about 8:12 p.m. when a vehicle struck her.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to police.
