UPDATE: Northeast Regional Corrections Center escapee found, arrested
UPDATE: A 48-year-old Hibbing man who escaped from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center in Saginaw on Sunday afternoon has been found, authorities said Monday.
According to Hubbard Broadcasting affiliate WDIO, Jesse James Crabtree was found Sunday night after someone from Industrial Township reported a suspicious person on their property. The St. Louis County Sherrif’s Office, a K-9 unit and a drone team located Crabtree inside a swamp.
He was arrested and is currently being held in the St. Louis County jail, WDIO reports.

Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 48-year-old Hibbing man who escaped from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center in Saginaw on Sunday afternoon.
According to reporting from WDIO, multiple agencies responded to the NERCC around 2:30 Sunday afternoon for a report of an inmate that walked away from the facility. He was identified as Jesse James Crabtree.
Upon arrival, squads started a K9 track, and also used a drone in an attempt to locate Crabtree.
Authorities say it is believed that Crabtree had contacted someone to pick him up prior to fleeing from the facility.
While searching for Crabtree, the sheriff’s office notified residents in the area that he had walked away from the facility.
Anyone with information on Crabtree’s whereabouts is encouraged to call 911.
St. Louis County Deputies, St. Louis County Rescue Squad Members, and the Hermantown Police with a K9 responded to the scene.
