UPDATE: Man who was shot in north Minneapolis dies

A man who was shot Sunday afternoon in the Near North neighborhood of Minneapolis has died, police confirmed.

Minneapolis Police said the shooting happened in the 1700 block of Plymouth Avenue North before 3 p.m. Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired in the area, and other witnesses reported seeing a male on the ground who appeared to be in distress.

Police say the the adult male victim, who police say was in his late teens, was walking when someone shot at him from inside a vehicle.

When officers arrived at the scene, the victim was on the ground. He did not have a pulse and was not breathing. Officers performed life-saving measures and were able to regain the victim’s breath and pulse.

The victim was then taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition but died hours later.

No arrests have been made at this time.

An investigation is ongoing.
