UPDATE: Brooklyn Park Police says the man has been found and appears to be OK.
The man was found in a swamp, according to police, but no other details were released.
Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find a missing man in Brooklyn Park.
Brooklyn Park Police says the 97-year-old man has dementia and normally walks with a cane but didn’t have one with him Wednesday morning when he left his home in the 3900 block of 94th Avenue.
An extensive search, which includes the use of a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter, is currently underway.
Anyone who lives in the River View, Willowstone, Pinebrook and River North neighborhoods is asked to check their yards, sheds and wooded areas for the man.
He was last seen wearing a sarong that looks like a blue blanket around his waist, and a green or gray short-sleeved shirt.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
