UPDATE: 3 arrested after shooting, search operation in Brooklyn Park

UPDATE: Three people were arrested in connection to a shooting after a search operation Friday night in Brooklyn Park.

Brooklyn Park Police said just after 5 p.m. that officers were searching for a suspect in connection to a shooting in the 6900 block of West Broadway Avenue. K9 units and police helicopters were used and some roads were closed.

As of 9 p.m., police said three people were in custody. No other details were provided.

The roadways have reopened.

Police are investigating a shooting in Brooklyn Park, Friday night.

According to Brooklyn Park Police, the shooting happened in the 6900 block of West Broadway Avenue.

A male suspect fired several rounds and then ran away, police said. However, officers believe they have the suspect contained to a nearby residence.

Police are conducting an extensive search in the neighborhoods to confirm the suspect isn’t still at large. The public should be aware of K9 units and police helicopters in the area as part of the search, the department said. Significant road closures are also likely.
