UPDATE: 2 injured after crash involving State Patrol in northern Minnesota
An off-ramp on Interstate 35 was closed earlier Friday due to a crash involving a Minnesota State Trooper.
According to the crash report, it happened in Sandstone Township at the ramp to Sandstone along I-35. Chopper 5 hovered over the scene and two vehicles, including one state patrol vehicle, are seen involved in the crash.
A state patrol Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Highway 23 and attempted to take a left turn to take the entrance ramp onto northbound I-35 when the Explorer collided with a Ford F-250, according to the crash report.
The driver of the F-250, identified as 25-year-old Ambur Marie Cady, from Hinckley, and the state trooper, 55-year-old Michael Ronald Hagen, from Duluth, each suffered injuries not considered to be life-threatening.
The state patrol is investigating.
