Twins announce ‘Welcome Back Week’ plans at Target Field
The Minnesota Twins are opening up capacity to 100% at Target Field without restrictions. With that, the team has announced plans for "Welcome Back Week" for its fans during the July 5-11 homestand.
According to the club, all games will be played against the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers. Each day will feature some combination of a promotional giveaway, theme night or other special event.
"Monday, July 5 – when we can fully open the Target Field gates and welcome back all Twins fans – will be a wonderful moment 636 days in the making," said Twins President & CEO Dave St. Peter in a statement. "It has been a long and sometimes unfathomable road from October 2019 to today. We cannot wait to fully remove all barriers and come together with our incredible fans and community to celebrate each other, Twins baseball and our shared Target Field experience."
A game-by-game breakdown of the promotions, theme nights and special events go as follows:
- July 5 vs. White Sox
- Food, Friends, Fun: The Twins’ first home game with 100% capacity since October 7, 2019, will also feature a first in the 12-season history of Target Field – a FREE, "All You Can Eat" offer for any ticket holder throughout the ballpark. Special "All You Can Eat" concessions will be available, for free, for all fans in attendance at Target Field that evening in the Gate 34 area, along with Sections 27, 114, 120, 126, 133, 237, R, 311 and 323. The menu includes ballpark favorites such as hot dogs, peanuts, Old Dutch potato chips, nacho chips with cheese, Pearson Salted Nut Rolls and Aquafina bottled water.
- Pregame Party at Gate 34: When the gates open at 4:40 p.m., fans are invited to come together in the Gate 34 area – Target Field’s front door – for a pregame party. DJ Matty Matt will provide musical entertainment, while patrons 21-and-over can enjoy a to-be-determined drink promotion, courtesy of Jack Daniel’s and Truly. Fans of all ages can hang out, relax and play games on the Schneiderman’s Lawn.
- Minnesota Lynx Night: As part of the ongoing #OneMN theme night series, the Twins will honor their Target Center neighbors and four-time WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx. - July 6 vs. White Sox
- Pride Night: The Twins are proud to join the LGBTQ+ community, friends, family and organizations in celebrating the club’s annual Pride Night, presented by Target. Fans who purchase this theme night package will receive a ticket to the game, along with a first-of-its-kind, customizable Twins/Pride Night jersey with their personal pronouns of choice. - July 7 vs. White Sox
- Student Day presented by Rasmussen University: Returning on July 7 for the first time in 2021, Ballpark Access tickets are just $5 for students, thanks to Rasmussen University. Students can purchase tickets through the MLB Ballpark app; additionally, students can text "STUDENT" to 51655 to receive special Student Day offers, or sign up here.
- Dollar-a-Dog Day: Every Wednesday, hot dogs are just $1 at the Hennepin Grille and Taste of Twins Territory concession stands.
- July 8 vs. Tigers
- U.S. Bank Meal Deal: Every Thursday, fans can purchase a U.S. Bank Home Run Porch View or Field Box High ticket and receive a FREE hot dog and Pepsi.
- University of North Dakota Night: All associated with the University of North Dakota are invited to join their fellow Fighting Hawks fans for UND Night presented by Alerus. Fans who purchase this theme night package will receive a ticket to the game, along with an exclusive, co-branded UND/Twins cap. This special theme night package can be purchased here.
- July 9 vs. Tigers
- Baby Blue Twins Replica Jersey: The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a button-up, Baby Blue Twins Replica Jersey presented by Mauer Auto Group (Adult M and XL).
- South Dakota State University Night: All associated with South Dakota State University are invited to join their fellow Jackrabbits fans for SDSU Night. - Friday Night Fireworks: The third in a summer-long series of postgame Friday night fireworks, presented by Securian Financial, will rock to classic stadium anthems with a "Jock Jams" theme.
- July 10 vs. Detroit Tigers
- 30 HR ‘Bomba Club’ Bobblehead: Within the Twins’ famed 2019 "Bomba Squad" that hit a single-season Major League Baseball record 307 home runs, there was a quintet that formed another single-season mark by becoming the first set of five teammates to all reach the 30-homer plateau. The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a special 30 HR "Bomba Club" Bobblehead, presented by Delta Air Lines, featuring the likenesses of Miguel Sanó, Eddie Rosario, Mitch Garver, Nelson Cruz and Max Kepler.
- July 11 vs. Tigers
- Twins Photo Magnet Schedule: The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a special, July-through-September version of a Twins Photo Magnet Schedule, presented by the Star Tribune.
- Kids Day: Every Sunday, kids’ meals are half price – just $4 – thanks to Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare. Postgame, all kids 12-and-younger can run the bases on the field.
