Trash companies asking people not to overload the system during the 'stay at home' order

Many Minnesotans are using the 'stay at home' order to do spring cleaning.  

The Peterson family has cleaned their St. Paul home from top to bottom. 

"I mean things are getting desperate, if we're cleaning under the sink which I did this morning,"  Seher Peterson said. "Cleaned behind our refrigerator. Gross!" 

The Petersons are collecting items, such as clothes and toys, to donate later, but some are putting items out on the curb.

Some trash companies are asking people not to throw everything away right now because it can overload the system. 

Some companies say if it doesn't fit in your bin, don't throw it away.

Since the closure of donation centers, some people are tossing out stuff in the trash that can be donated.

Trash companies are asking you to hold onto items until after the 'stay at home' order has been lifted.
