Teen charged in fatal Bloomington hotel shooting
A 17-year-old has been charged by juvenile petition in connection to a Bloomington hotel shooting that left 39-year-old Jennifer Swaggert dead.
According to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, the teen faces one count of second-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Earlier this week, 39-year-old Trimeanna Williams was charged with aiding an offender after the fact in relation to the shooting.
Woman charged in connection to Bloomington hotel shooting
The county attorney’s office says on July 12, a housekeeper for La Quinta Hotel in found Swaggert dead from a gunshot wound to the face.
Investigators learned that Williams had rented to room from July 9-12. When police spoke with William, she said that Swaggert was her "best friend." Williams also confirmed she had been staying at the hotel with her three sons and three other teens.
Witnesses told police that the teen charged in the shooting was fighting with Swaggert because she would not give William money for a storage unit. The teen then went on to shoot Swaggert, according to the attorney’s office and juvenile petition.
