TCF Bank Stadium is getting a new name.
The Minnesota-based TCF Bank merged with Huntington Bank last year and the deal was finalized this month.
The University of Minnesota Board of Regents met Tuesday and approved changing the stadium name to Huntington Bank Stadium.
"We are excited to partner with Huntington Bank and are excited to play in Huntington Bank Stadium this season and beyond," Director of Athletics Mark Coyle said in a statement. "This partnership will allow Gopher Athletics to continue to strive for greatness and focus on the success of our student-athletes."
The university’s Board of Regents also approved updates to related agreements to reflect the new name.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS spoke to Tim Olson at DeMars Signs about how much it costs to change the logos. The company has changed signs at stadiums across the Twin Cities.
"It’s a tremendous amount of work," Olson said. "I’m guessing it’s probably about $450,000 to $650,000 to change everything out."
University officials say Huntington Bank is going to pick up the check for switching up the signage.
Fans will be back in the stands at the newly-named stadium when the Gophers play Ohio State on Sept. 2.
