Taco Bell announces new items as part of menu revamp
Taco Bell announced Thursday it is putting "the finishing touches" on a streamlined menu.
The chain restaurant announced in July it planned to remove a handful of menu items in an effort to "make room for new innovations."
Taco Bell revamping menu, 12 items to be removed in August
In the update Thursday, Taco Bell said it is removing the following items by November 5:
- Mexican Pizza
- Pico de Gallo
- Shredded Chicken
Taco Bell also stated many of the menu items previously thought to be permanently gone can still be ordered, such as:
- Quesarito
- 7-Layer Burrito
Meanwhile, Taco Bell stated it is adding the following items:
- Chicken Chipotle Melt (nationwide): This menu item will include grilled chicken, chipotle sauce and cheddar cheese rolled and melted together. It will be available starting November 5.
- Dragonfruit Freeze (nationwide): This menu item is a frozen beverage that includes dragonfruit flavor. It will be available starting September 24.
- Green Sauce (regional): This "new and improved" recipe will include fire-roasted green chilies, pureed jalapeño and hatch green chilies. It will be available starting November 5.
- Quesalupa (testing in Knoxville, Tennessee): The Quesalupa is expected to be back on menus next year, kicking off with a test run in Knoxville, Tennessee, this year, on September 24.
