State Patrol: 69 crashes and 65 spinouts across state as winter weather continues to impact roads
The State Patrol says that from 11 a.m. Sunday through 7 a.m. Monday there were 69 crashes statewide including 11 with injuries and one deadly crash in Beltrami County. Additionally, there were 65 spinouts or vehicles off the road and two jackknifed semis.
Parts of the state saw more flurries or snow on Sunday, but the crash numbers were down significantly from Saturday night into Sunday morning when the Twin Cities metro saw the first significant snow accumulation of the season with about an inch.
According to 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas, strong winds Monday morning will cause some blowing and drifting snow. More snowfall is expected in southern Minnesota early Tuesday morning, including about an inch in the Twin Cities metro.
