St. Paul native Jalen Suggs picked 5th overall in NBA Draft
A former star basketball player for Minnehaha Academy was drafted No. 5 overall in Thursday night’s 2021 NBA Draft.
Jalen Suggs was selected by the Orlando Magic.
Suggs spent one season at Gonzaga University, helping the team to the NCAA title game. He also made a dramatic buzzer-beater to get Gonzaga to the big game.
Suggs and his coach at Minnehaha Academy, Lance Johnson, talked to KSTP Sports Wednesday to preview the draft.
