1 injured during overnight shooting at St. Paul gas station

Police say one man is in critical condition after he was shot overnight at a St. Paul gas station.

According to police, officers were called to the BP gas station on the 300 block of Wheelock Parkway at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a person being hit by gunfire.

When they arrived, officers found a 19-year-old who had been shot in the chest on the ground near the station’s entrance.

The man was then taken to Regions Hospital, according to police, where they say he is in critical condition after going in for surgery.

No other details about the victim were released.

Police say while they were still on the scene, they were told another man, identified as a 24-year-old, was dropped off by a private party at Regions Hospital.

That person had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg but police don’t know if his injury is related to the shooting at the gas station.

Officials say the victim is in stable condition but isn’t cooperating with police.

No one is in custody at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 651-266-5650.
