St. Cloud woman held on murder charges for death of infant Sunday

A woman from St. Cloud was arrested in relation to the death of her infant Sunday, police said.

At about 6:30 a.m., St. Cloud police were dispatched to perform a welfare check on a mother and child near Maine Prairie Road and Oak Grove Road Southwest. At the residence, officers found a dead 3-month-old child.

After investigating and processing the scene in conjunction with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, police arrested 26-year-old Fardoussa Abdillahi for the infant’s death. She is being held in Stearns County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.

There is an active homicide investigation underway. No further information is available at this time.
