St. Cloud man identified as victim of fatal triple shooting
Authorities have released the identity of a man who was killed during a triple shooting last week in Minneapolis.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, 27-year-old Mahamed Hassan Mahamud of St. Cloud was shot and killed Thursday.
As 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS previously reported, the shooting happened near South Fifth Street and 15th Avenue South just before 11:30 p.m.
Officials say shots were fired from inside one vehicle toward another.
When officers arrived, they found an injured man—now identified as Mahamud—in the street. He then died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
A man and a woman were also shot, but are expected to be OK.
According to police, the three people were sitting in a vehicle parked along 15th Avenue South when a separate vehicle pulled up and a person inside shot into their vehicle. The suspect vehicle then left the scene.
Police previously stated everyone who was involved is believed to know each other.
