Snow continues Saturday evening, Winter Weather Advisory South
Snow is covering many roads across central and southern Minnesota Saturday evening. Bands of light to steady snow continue to move southeast through midnight.
A Winter Weather Advisory continues for most of southern Minnesota through midnight. Any county in the Advisory could see 2 to 4 inches of snow through the evening. These locations will likely have travel impacted through the night.
Farther north, the Twin Cities metro should have about 1 to 2 inches. Anywhere north of the metro, less than an inch of snow is in the forecast. With light winds, there is no concern for blowing snow tonight. That means once roads are plowed, they will likely stay clear through Sunday morning.
Sunday will be almost a carbon copy of Saturday: It starts with some sun, then clouds move in for the afternoon, and snow is back by the evening. Another 1 to 2 inches is likely Sunday evening through very early Monday.
When the snow ends on Monday, north winds will drive in more frigid temperatures. Plan on potentially dangerous wind chills Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
