Single-motor-vehicle crash causes 1 dead in Le Sueur County

A 19-year-old died Saturday after a single-vehicle crash in Kasota Township.

According to the Le Sueur County Sheriff Office, at around 2:48 p.m., deputies received a motor vehicle crash report on County Road 23 and Ottawa Road. The report stated the crash involved a single-motor-vehicle that went off the roadway and impacted trees.

Once emergency services and deputies arrived on the scene, they located the driver, who was also the only occupant inside the vehicle. The driver was extricated from the vehicle by the Rescue Squad and subsequently identified as Raquel Elizabeth Stutsman, age 19 of rural Le Sueur; Stutsman was pronounced dead at the scene, said the sheriff’s office.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. More information is expected to be released at a later time.
