Shooting near Stone Arch Bridge leaves 4 injured, shooter still at-large

Police say four people were injured late Saturday night during a shooting near the Stone Arch Bridge.

According to Minneapolis Police, officers were called to the area of Main Street and Southeast 6th Avenue just after 11 p.m. for a report of multiple shots being fired.

When officers arrived, they found what they described as a “chaotic scene”, saying multiple fights broke out within the large crowd as they worked to locate and secure the scene.

After controlling the crowd, officers say they found the four people who were shot, saying a man in his 30’s received a potentially life-threatening head injury. In addition, they say an 18-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man received apparent non-life-threatening injuries.

Police add a 17-year-old girl, who had non-life threatening injuries, was privately taken to the hospital, while the other three were taken to an area hospital by ambulance.

Police are unsure of any relation between the four people who were injured.

As of this time, no one is in custody for the shooting, which happened as a crowd of people and vehicles gathered near the intersection. Police say the gathering wasn’t a scheduled or official event.
