Shooting injures 1 in St. Paul’s North End

One person was taken to a hospital after a shooting Tuesday night in St. Paul’s North End neighborhood.

St. Paul Police said officers were called to the area of Maryland Avenue and North Park Street at around 9 p.m. on a report of shots fired.

As officers were investigating at the scene, they learned a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to one of his legs had arrived at Regions Hospital.

The victim told police he was shot a few blocks away, near Maryland Avenue and Albemarle Street. There, officers recovered 24 casings, according to police.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning and the investigation remains active.
