When you have a loved one sick at home, the last thing you need to worry about is those everyday errands like grocery shopping. That’s where a new partnership with non-profit CaringBridge and same-day delivery service Shipt might be helpful to you.

The companies announced they’re integrating services to make it easier for families going through a health journey to ask for help.

"By getting groceries, pet food, prescriptions delivered right to their door by friends and family who really want to help them while they’re on that health journey," said Rina Hurst, chief business officer with Shipt.

All you have to do is log on to the CaringBridge site and click on the new Shipt icon. You can put items into a virtual basket and have it delivered to a friend or family member’s door. Hurst said she’s been in this situation herself. When her husband was sick this spring, she was able to use Shipt and she said it was a huge help.

"It was just such a relief and it gave me some sanity. I got food, meal solutions delivered to my house. One person sent me Legos for my kids. I have two young kids and it gave me so much peace of mind and relief," Hurst said.
