No one inside a Shakopee hospital was injured after a vehicle went through the wall during the overnight hours.

According to Shakopee Police, a SUV drove through the external wall on the west side of St. Francis Regional Medical Center shortly before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Hospital officials say no one inside the building was injured, and patient care wasn’t interrupted.

A statement issued by Allina Health around 12:45 a.m. Thursday says they are securing the building and evaluating damages.

Police say the driver received minor injuries, and was the only person in the vehicle. No other details about the driver were provided, except that police took a blood draw from the driver.

Officials add they don’t believe it was intentional.
