Rolling Stones logo popping up around downtown Minneapolis hints at tour stop this summer

Rumor has it one of the biggest rock bands ever is coming to the Twin Cities.

From Nicollet Mall to U.S. Bank Stadium, it looks like The Rolling Stones are coming to the Twin Cities.

The last time the band performed in Minnesota was in 2015 at TCF Bank Stadium.

"I'm a pretty big Stones fan, yeah, I got almost all their stuff," said Mark Wald, from Minneapolis.

All around downtown Minneapolis, there are hints a return is imminent. There's an ice sculpture along Nicollet Mall and two giant video screens at U.S. Bank Stadium with the band's iconic logo on them.

"One of my coworkers mentioned they saw the logo over there and I went over to the window and said, 'they must be coming here,'" Wald said.

"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that chances are The Rolling Stones are going to be performing somewhere in the Twin Cities," said Michael Nowakowski, Ticket King co-owner.

Nowakowski said a Stones show would be a popular ticket, depending on the price tag.

"In 2015, the face value was somewhere between $400-500, which takes a big chunk of the demographic out of the equation," Nowakowski said. "The Rolling Stones and U2 are kind of the last of the rock bands that can sell out stadiums."

For fans, it could be the last time the band hits the stage together in Minnesota. But then again, it is The Rolling Stones.

"It's never the last time so I don't believe it's the last time," Wald said.

"This has got to be their last tour but who knows, they're like bionic men," Nowakowski said.
