Rocking, inclined infant sleeper seats recalled over suffocation risk

Two companies have recalled inclined or rocking infant sleeper seats due to concerns over the risk of suffocation.

Summer Infant's SwaddleMe By Your Bed Sleeper and Graco's Little Lounger Rocking Seat were recalled Wednesday, according to releases from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC).

The recall affects more than 150,000 total units.

Both products were manufactured in China and sold in stores nationwide, including at Amazon, Buy Buy Baby, Target, Babies R Us and other stores. The Summer Infant sleeper was sold from March 2017 through December 2019, according to the USCPSC, while the Graco sleeper was sold from 2013 through 2018.

Infant fatalities have been reported with other manufacturers' inclined sleep products after infants rolled from their back to their stomach or side, the USCPSC said, although no injuries were listed for either of the specific products affected by the recall.
