Anger over the shooting of a Black man by police spilled into the streets of Kenosha for a second night Monday.
Police again fired tear gas at hundreds of protesters who defied a curfew, threw bottles and shot fireworks at law enforcement guarding the courthouse.
The shooting that seriously wounded 29-year-old Jacob Blake turned Kenosha into the nation’s latest flashpoint city in a summer of racial unrest.

Police fired the tear gas about 30 minutes after an 8 p.m. curfew took effect, but many protesters remained out hours later.
Anger over the shooting moved protesters in Minneapolis Monday night. Eleven people are now in custody after marching at the Hennepin County Detention Center. The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office stated demonstrators broke windows and threatened to break into the jail.
Those arrested are being held on probable cause riot, damage to property and unlawful assembly.
"We fully support peaceful protests, but we can not – and will not – allow demonstrators to destroy property or jeopardize the safety and security of our inmates, our deputies and our jail," Hennepin County Sheriff Dave Hutchinson said in a statement.
Protests in Minneapolis were primarily peaceful earlier in the day. Protesters took to the streets, starting at the Hennepin County Government Center, to demand justice for Blake.
Five people were arrested following those protests. A spokesperson with the Minneapolis Police Department stated that one of the arrests was for probable cause damage to property. The other four were for misdemeanors.
