President Joe Biden is scheduled to make a stop in the Twin Cities next week for the memorial service of former Vice President Walter Mondale.

Mondale died last year at age 93. He and Biden served together in the U.S. Senate from 1973-77.

The president will travel to Minneapolis on Sunday, and he is scheduled to speak at the service for Mondale at the University of Minnesota. Other speakers include Gov. Tim Walz and Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith.

It will be Biden’s second visit to the state as president after he visited Rosemount in November.
