Police: Woman in RV shot, killed in north Minneapolis

A woman is dead after a shooting Tuesday morning in north Minneapolis, according to police.
At around 9:50 a.m., Minneapolis police officers responded to a shooting report near North Girard and Plymouth avenues and found a woman in her 40s suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Minneapolis Police Department public information officer Garrett Parten.
Officers rendered aid but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, a man and woman in an RV heard gunshots and the woman then realized she’d been shot.
Witnesses saw a vehicle leaving the scene right after the shots were fired, and officers said they don’t believe the shooting was random. However, the investigation remains active.

Police asked anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit information online. The case number associated with this incident is 22-131304.
“We want to continue our message that there’s a better way to deal with disputes, there’s a better way to deal with disagreements. We’re asking people to, please, stop the gun violence, put them down,” Parten said during a news conference Tuesday morning.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the woman’s cause of death and her identity at a later time.
Minneapolis police said the incident marks the city’s 42nd homicide of this year.
