Police: Man wanted in connection to fatal stabbing in Minneapolis arrested trying to cross border
A man wanted in connection to a fatal stabbing that occurred in Minneapolis over the weekend was arrested attempting to cross the border.
The Minneapolis Police Department said Kayd Mohamed Falug, 23, was arrested Sunday by Canada Border Services Agency officers at the Emerson, Manitoba port of entry.
Police investigating deadly stabbing west of downtown Minneapolis
Police say Falug was wanted in connection to the death of 19-year-old Abdirisaq Muhudin Namhani.
According to police, officers were called Saturday night to the area of Fourth Avenue North and White Memorial Boulevard on the report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they located Namhani, who had suffered stab wounds. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
